Organic Vegetables
Baby Food

organic baby Cierra

Feeding your baby organic vegetables will improve your baby's health.

Vegetables give your baby the firm foundation needed to grow a healthy brain, muscles, bones and helps to strengthen their immune system.

Organic food for infants assures you your baby is not getting added pesticides, chemicals and other toxins.

"Dirty Dozen" vegetables: sweet bell peppers, celery, spinach, lettuce, and potatoes.

organic carrots

Vegetables: Organic carrots, sweet potatoes, peas, corn, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, squash etc.

*Organic spinach after one year of age, due to high concentrations of naturally-occurring nitrates which can reduce the baby's hemoglobin.

Start your baby with one item at a time. Usually an orange veggie like carrots or sweet potatoes. Then try different combinations.

Cut up and lightly steam your choice of vegetables.

Puree using a blender or food processor.

Add steam distilled water or water left from steaming, if necessary, until a desired consistency is achieved.

I said making organic baby food was easy!

Note: After cooking, you can mash most veggies with a fork for immediate consumption. Even easier!

Some veggies do not need cooking. Baby carrots work well blended raw!

*Remember babies don't need salt.

Freeze the organic baby food in small non-toxic containers.

I haven't had much luck finding non-plastic or non-aluminum ice cube trays which are an ideal portion size for babies.

If you find any please let me know with the contact link below.

You could try lining traditional trays with pieces of wax paper so the food doesn't come into direct contact with the plastic.

Maybe some tea lite candle holders made of glass or steel would work for freezing small portions.

After they are frozen you can transfer them to other non-toxic containers. "Mason Jars" work.

When you are ready to feed your baby a portion of your organic baby food just gently heat and serve. Put what you need each day in the fridge in the morning.

*Please do not use the microwave to heat your nutrient filled organic vegetables. Details here.

Tammi's Tidbits: Foods are best digested when served at room temperature or slightly warmer. Good health begins with proper digestion!
