It disgusts me how fast some food technologies are rushed to market, when organic fought for 13 years to become federal law!

Today an astounding 30 percent of our cropland is planted in genetically modify organisms.

The organic food label is the only seal of reassurance against these and other modern, lab produced additions to our foods and the only food term with inspections and federal regulations.

Easy Organic Peach Crisp

1 can drained organic peaches

dash organic nutmeg

dash organic ginger

2 tbs organic flour

1 tbs melted organic butter (can use cold pressed oil)

3 tbs organic sugar

2 tbs organic quick cooking oats

Preheat oven 350*

Pour peaches into a small glass or stainless steel baking dish. Mix well, the rest of ingredients, except butter and top the peaches with the mixture.

Brush with melted butter and bake for 25-35 min.

*Variation: Before topping with butter, sprinkle with an organic granola like apple-cinnamon. Then brush with butter and proceed as above. Or try crumbling cookies and or nuts on top and brushing with melted butter.Yum!

*Serving Suggestions: Top while warm, with ice cream or organic yogurt or maybe just some organic milk.

  • Peaches are loaded with vitamin A, potassium, and fiber and very low calorie.
  • Easy to digest.
  • Fight cancer and heart disease.

Tammi's Tidbits: Organic farmers don’t receive federal subsidies like conventional farmers do. Therefore, the price of organic fruit reflects the true cost of growing.

Organic Avocado Sauce
for fish and poultry

1 large organic avocado

1 organic lime

1 tsp minced organic garlic

pinch organic ground turmeric

pinch organic chili powder

pinch organic dried oregano

Peel, pit and mash or blend avocado until smooth. Add lime, spices and garlic and mix together. Serve immediately with fish or chicken, or it will darken. Yields about 1 1/4 cups

  • Avocodos reduce the risk of heart attacks.
  • Stablilize blood sugar
  • Aid in the regeneration of blood and tissue.

*Organic fruit farmers are less reliant on non-renewable fossil fuels.

Tammi's Organic Fruit Salad

organic apples

4 med organic apples, cored and diced

1 tbs organic lemon juice

1/2 cup organic celery, chopped

1/2 cup organic walnuts, chopped

1/4 cup organic raisins

1/4 cup organic dried cranberries

1/2 cup organic slaw dressing

In a large bowl sprinkle organic apples with 1 tbs lemon juice. Stir in celery, raisins, cranberries, and walnuts. Gently stir in dressing. Serves 6-8

  • The pectin in organic apples removes unwanted metals and toxins.
  • Aids in weight loss.
  • Cleanse the bladder.

Organic Lemon Squares

Crust:

1 cup organic flour

1/2 cup organic butter, softened

1/4 cup organic powdered sugar

Filling:

2 organic eggs

1 cup organic sugar

1/2 tsp organic baking powder

1/4 tsp sea salt

2 tsp organic lemon peel, grated

2 tbs organic lemon juice

organic powder sugar to sprinkle

Preheat oven 350*

Combine flour, butter and powdered sugar, mix well. Press evenly into an 8x8 glass baking pan (do not grease). Build up 1/2" edges. Bake crust for 20 min.

Beat remaining ingredients, except powdered sugar, until light and fluffy. Pour mixture over hot crust.

Bake until no indentation remains when touched in the center, about 25 min. Sprinkle with powder sugar. Cool. Serves 8

Facts:

  • Lemons cleanse the liver.
  • Are excellent blood purifiers.
  • No drink can compare with the valuable healing properties of lemon juice when mixed with steam distilled water.

*Feeding the soil with organic matter instead of ammonia and other artificial fertilizers has proven to increase nutrients in organic fruits and other produce, with higher levels of vitamins and minerals!
